You could put two coils in parallel, with the same polarity, provided a magnet influences both equally at the same time.

the coils on the back are influenced at the same time as are the ones on the front are influenced at the same time but the ones on the back will not be parallelled with the ones on the front!

Because the circuit configuration uses both halves of the AC waveform and is in effect a voltage doubler.
in spice can you model the both halves of the ACwaveform? along with putting the coils that are in phase, in parallel, thanks Mr Alec_t

How come, if the magnets on the back are angularly offset from those on the front, as shown in post #417?
Also, the magnet polarities aren't shown.

what I meant is that the ones on the back would be in parallel and the ones on the front will be in parallel but the ones on the back and front would not be in parallel1706962388863.png

(on the front) when one coil 1 is at the top 12 O'clock and the other coil 2 at 9 O'clock a north will be passing those coils at the same time, and on the back when one coil 3 is at 9 O'clock and the other coil number 4 is at 6 O'clock, a north will be passing those coils at the same time so the coils on the back can be in parallel and the coils on the front can be in parallel but the front coils cannot be paralled with the back coils! do you get it?

This should allow for a greater current by parallelling coils, but at the expense of greater ripple in the voltage. Isn't it usual with this type of generator to have a magnet number which is not an integral multiple of the coil number, to minimise ripple?
By having alternating magnet poles per face of the disc I think each coil will produce an output voltage vaguely like this (but with more rounded peaks) :

should be putting on the new coils today the front is the one thats called DSCF0220 back is DSCF0219

In that image you can't see the offset of the magnets it was just to show that the magnets north poles are facing one way. thought it might confuse things when I posted it the magnets are offset and out of phase 120 degrees

this one is correct!! the front lags the back by 120 degrees I want to parallel the front coils and I want to parallel the back coils!! can you show me how to utilise both sides of the waveform and what the the two pairs of the coils in parallel looks like please, in spice, thanks

there are 4 coils and 8 magnets either side offset by a third!

yes this is the correct wave I think do you mean that I should have more than eight magnets either side? It's possible to be 10 on either side I think

either way if I do use 10 on either side the offset is still important to get that wave you mentioned I like the look of it, that is correct the wave of each coil will be that of the one you said, but if I have 10 on either side then the the when a north magnet is at 12 O'clock there will be no north magnet at 9 O'clock there fore no parallelling can be done what are your thoughts? thanks

the wave of the coil will be a sine wave and it will be doubled up with the coil on the same side to reduce the resistance. The OTHERSIDE of the wheel is lagging 120 degrees and when the paralled coils are coupled and added with the other side then the wave should look like the one you said!!
and then after that part it'll be put through a rectiyer and smoothing cap bank and then onto the the main IR2110 circuit!

The wave won't be a true sine-wave, because the coil inductance will vary as a magnet moves near it and the coil energisation is discontinuous.

thats fine so can you help to utilise the entire wave, parallel the coils that have passing magnets at the same time, coupling the two outputs of the pair of paralled coils (front paralled coils and rear paralled) and rectifying the output to then put into the IR2110 circuit, all in spice, I really appreciate the help, thanks
