    Confirm resistor type

Ok ..thanks Yes, had the component numbers a-about. After a bit of thought might be better to tap into the opto and refit another that could drive a standard relay. Couple of wires tapped in and mount new bits away from the charcoal...... Thanks again...Jeff

    Confirm resistor type

Components for the fan motor drive received quite a touch-up but the rest looks quite ok and other parts of the system are working ok also. The one resistor in question may well be a higher multiplier as it has been cooked a bit. RAC is an LG... LS-J0962HL

    Confirm resistor type

Hi Dave, Drew the circuit out myself, followed traces on the board, found part numbers for the thyristor and trigger and applied that to the drawing. The resistor values as far as I could read them were (R03) 990R (white white brown gold)...it read 770R on the meter with part...

    Confirm resistor type

Have an RAC fan coil control board with a couple of components burnt up and need to confirm what I think are a type of ceramic resistor used in and around the damage. I have shown the resistor in question (possibly 2w ?) alongside a standard 1/4w carbon resistor for comparison. Resistors are...

    Perhaps, but it wasn't stated.

Also keep an eye on the REN number of your equipment and how many devices per line, just as important.

    How does the current flow?

Just when you get your head around the above, then there comes transistors and movement of "holes" theory in which they appear to move but actually do not. It's just a space where an electron used to be. o_O To be honest, I just remembered what the bloke said when he gave us the lessons, copied...

    Transformer Output Current

In your above example, it is clear the transformer has 2 secondary windings and to get the 15v @ 6 amp, the 2 windings are connected in parallel. i.e. the two "starts" and the two "finish" of each winding connected together. To get 30v @ 3 amp, the two windings are seriesed together, i.e finish...

    floodlight HELP

Yes, I did see that but under the suffit would be ok. Any lv power supply would have to be mounted much the same or in w/p case. For $7.00 odd it was worth a mention I thought.

So did you take a look at the Ebay link from #15. Think it might suit you.

    relay driver

The first set of figures you supplied show you want to run the relay from a 24v supply. If you look at the data sheet it show the coil resistance for this is 1600R. In dc, current I =E(voltage)/ R (coil resistance) = 24/1600 = 15mA. So you will need a small transistor capable of a Ic (collector...

Usually the floodlight coming on is enough of a deterent. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/24-LED-DJ-Club-Party-Stage-Lighting-DJ-Effect-Party-Strobe-Blue-Light-AC90-240V-/271519517580?pt=AU_Stage_Lighting_Effects&hash=item3f37d30b8c Would imagine one would have to mount it under a suffit of...

It's noise. It could come from anywhere. Could mean the kettle has boiled.

This HAS to be a wind up. Just a shame to see how you've wasted everyones time and effort.

What circuit..?? If you are referring to the last circuit in post #16, then did you remove the dead short across the bridge rectifier?? 0.5V where? Why is it that you do not want to close the circuit now?

I broke distress strobe light with my multimeter when testing amps? (diagram)

I read a review on this particular unit where it was quoted as "ran for several hours on alkaline cells". Now an AA alkaline cell at 1 Amp discharge has an amp/hour rating of 0.98Ah. The deduction is, either this reviewer was telling porkies or your measurements were incorrect or the unit is...

Controlling a DC motor with a PLC

I looked at the unit you quoted "S7-200" and as I said previously, it appears to be digital i/o for the basic unit. So I therefore asked which expansion module i/o unit were you using to get the "8*24DC DI and 6*RELAY outputs". I do not see any combo expansion units with the numbers of i/o's...

1 Amp from 2 AA cells....don't think they will last long at that. Any sort of current drain marking on that rear panel id plate??

    Thermostaticizing

    I'd be looking at re-calculating your 137R resistor for the zener. With the bridge unit and 24vac feed you'll have maybe 36vdc out. 36-3.3 = 32.7v drop across 137r = 238mA . .... 238mA * 137 = 7.78W Resistor won't take it and neither will the zener.
