Question about ttl IC

Hi Steven,
Yes, they seem to call any kind of IC an opamp.
Somebody probably told them that an opamp is an IC and that a logic chip is also an IC, so they thought, "Hmmm, they are both the same". ;D
I have a catalog that lists hundreds of LEDs and their important spec's like "maximum reverse voltage" and "maximum forward voltage". But all of them have the same 5V maximum reverse voltage and all the red ones have the same 2.0V maximum forward voltage. They didn't have enough room on the page to list "brightness" and "viewing angle", which is what most people look for. ;D

IC manufacturers also make mistakes, even on their datasheets.
Look at the protection diode that is recommended by Panasonic in figure 2 on page 10 of their 79Lxx negative voltage regulator datasheet:

It is backwards and shorts out the entire regulator!
