Canada-based Moddo has introduced the Pinch, claiming the title of the smallest Arduino-compatible board available in 2026. Measuring only 10.9 × 10.5 mm, the board combines a 32-bit Microchip SAMD11 microcontroller, native USB-C connectivity, and multiple I/O interfaces in a footprint that is even smaller than many individual electronic components. The compact design targets embedded projects where every millimeter matters.

Despite its tiny size, the Pinch offers a feature set suitable for prototyping and deployment. It integrates an Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running at up to 48 MHz, onboard RGB status LED, reset button, USB-C connector, and a 3.3V LDO regulator. Moddo also provides an optional breakout board with standard 2.54 mm headers, making development much easier before deploying the board into space-constrained applications such as USB HID devices, wearable electronics, and custom embedded systems.

Pinch PCB kit

The smallest Arduino-compatible board works directly with the Arduino IDE. Users only need to add Moddo’s Boards Manager URL, install the Moddo SAMD board package, and select the Pinch board before uploading sketches. The board supports existing Arduino libraries, examples, USB CDC serial communication, and native USB HID functionality, making it suitable for projects such as custom keyboards, mice, and other USB peripherals. Developers can also access documentation, schematics, PCB files, 3D models, and additional technical resources through the company’s GitHub repository.

Moddo has opened pre-orders for the Pinch PCB Kit at $15.90. The kit includes the Pinch board, a breakout PCB with 0.1-inch pitch headers, and three unsoldered male header strips for easier prototyping. According to the company, mass production is underway, with shipments scheduled to begin in September 2026.
