XIAO 1.47-inch IPS Touch Display

Seeed Studio has introduced the XIAO 1.47-inch IPS Touch Display, a compact smart-device development board built around the XIAO nRF52840 Plus. It combines a 1.47-inch 172 × 320 IPS TFT display with capacitive touch, a six-axis IMU, PDM digital microphone, MicroSD card slot, two user buttons, and battery support in a compact form factor.

The board uses Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52840, a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor with FPU running at 64 MHz. It provides 256 KB RAM, 1 MB internal Flash, 2 MB onboard Flash, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.4 connectivity. With its combination of display, touch, sensing, audio input, storage, and wireless connectivity, the IPS Touch Display is suitable for portable HMIs, BLE controllers, smart badges, wearable devices, digital pets, and motion-aware gadgets.

Specifications

Developers can program the board using Arduino IDE 1.8 or later with the Seeed nRF52 Boards package. Seeed’s Seeed_GFX2 library provides display support and handles the board and panel configuration, including the JD9853A display, pin mapping, resolution, color order, and orientation. Seeed also provides example programs for the display, touch interface, MicroSD card, microphone, IMU, buttons, and battery monitoring.
