Luckfox Lyra PLC – An Industrial Linux Controller with Dual Ethernet, CAN & RS485
Designed for industrial automation and IoT gateways, this Debian 12 device features an integrated touchscreen for local monitoring and optional PoE power.
Luckfox has launched the Lyra PLC, a programmable logic controller (PLC) based on the Rockchip RK3506B SoC with a triple-core Arm Cortex-A7 processor running at up to 1.2 GHz.
The device features a 1.9-inch LCD touchscreen with a 170 × 320 resolution, 512MB of DDR3L RAM, and 8GB of eMMC storage. For networking, it provides two 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and BLE. It supports software such as OpenPLC and Node-RED; all these features make it a very useful device for industrial automation, smart agriculture, and IoT applications.
The Luckfox Lyra PLC features a touchscreen display and industrial I/O interfaces.

Luckfox Lyra – hardware overview showing its touchscreen, Ethernet ports, industrial interfaces, USB ports, and relay terminals.
On the software side, the Lyra PLC runs Debian 12 (Bookworm) with Linux 6.1. The company also provides a browser-based WebUI for system, network, firewall, and routing configuration. The PLC supports MQTT, TCP, UDP, and HTTP for data communication, along with Modbus RTU/TCP/UDP for device communication and protocol conversion such as CAN-to-Ethernet and Modbus RTU-to-TCP. More information is available on the company’s wiki page.
We previously wrote about the Luckfox Lyra and Lyra Plus micro boards, and later we wrote about the Lyra Ultra and Lyra Ultra W boards based on the Rockchip RK3506 family. The Lyra PLC uses the same RK3506B with 512MB DDR3L and 8GB eMMC, but adds a DIN-rail form factor, relays, and industrial interfaces. We have also reported on other industrial controllers, including the UniPi Edge E410, Seeed Studio EdgeBox-RPi-200, EDATEC ED-PLC2010, Arduino Opta, and Cytron IRIV RP2350, while the Forlinx FET3506J-S uses the related RK3506J for industrial applications.
The Luckfox Lyra PLC is currently available through the Waveshare store, where the Standard Version is priced at $83.99, while the PoE Version retails for $89.99.
