Orange Pi 6 Plus CIX CD8180/CD8160 SBC

Orange Pi has recently unveiled the Orange Pi 6 Plus, a high-performance single-board computer (SBC) built around the CIX CD8180/CD8160 SoC with a 12-core 64-bit CPU and an integrated NPU delivering up to 45 TOPS. Designed for AI computing, robotics, and other multimedia applications. The board is designed for developers and enthusiasts working on machine vision, robotics, and edge computing projects.

The board supports up to 64 GB LPDDR5 RAM, dual M.2 Key-M NVMe slots, SPI Flash, and a MicroSD slot for flexible storage. Connectivity options include dual 5G Ethernet ports, M.2 E-Key for Wi-Fi, and multiple USB interfaces, including USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and Type-C ports with DP and PD 100W. Display support includes HDMI 1.4, eDP, and Type-C DP, all up to 4K resolution, with dual MIPI-CSI camera inputs. Additional features include a 40-pin GPIO header, PWM-controlled fan connector, audio codec with headphone and mic support, and RTC/battery connectors, all within a 115×100 mm form factor.

The board supports multiple operating systems, including Debian, Ubuntu, Android, and Windows, providing flexibility for developers across different environments. It also supports the ROS 2 framework, making it suitable for robotics and AI-based automation projects. Previously, we have seen Radxa release the Orion O6, which uses SoCs from CIX.

At the time of writing, the board is not yet available for purchase, and the company has not disclosed any pricing details. However, the product page is already live, and availability is expected soon through Amazon and AliExpress.
