Seeed Studio’s Wio-S3 is a compact wireless module that combines an ESP32-S3R8 dual-core MCU with a Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver for long-range IoT connectivity. It supports LoRaWAN on the EU868 and US915 frequency bands, along with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, making it suitable for smart agriculture, industrial automation, remote monitoring, and other connected applications.
The module features a dual-core ESP32-S3 processor with 16MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM for data processing and edge AI. It supports LoRa transmission up to 20.9 dBm at 868 MHz and 20.74 dBm at 915 MHz, with sensitivity down to -137 dBm. A built-in TCXO helps keep the wireless signal stable.

Wio-S3 Wireless LoRa Module Reference Design
The device comes in two variants with or without an onboard IPEX connector, giving developers different antenna options. The module is designed to be built into custom IoT devices. With LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, large memory, and low power consumption, it can be used for sensor nodes, data logging, remote monitoring, smart agriculture, and industrial automation.
On the software side, Wio-S3 can be programmed with ESP-IDF and Arduino, but the module also supports command firmware for initial testing and configuration. Seeed Studio provides documentation, KiCad design files, a STEP 3D model, and SDK resources for developers working on custom hardware.
