Ezurio Carbon AM62 OSM-MF Industrial SoM With TI AM62 Processor

Compact AM62 OSM-MF module combines Cortex-A53 processing, RTOS support, PRU I/O, and industrial interfaces for automation, HMI, and edge systems.

The Carbon AM62 OSM-MF from Ezurio is a compact industrial-grade System-on-Module (SoM) based on Texas Instruments AM62 family processors and combines application CPUs, microcontrollers, and deterministic real-time I/O hardware into a single 45 × 30 mm OSM form factor. The module is designed for embedded products that need both Linux application processing and real-time control.

This board has a heterogeneous architecture, which is unlike most other SoMs based on Linux. The main operating system is executed by a quad-core Cortex-A53 with custom MCU cores and PRU (Programmable Real-Time Unit) responsible for time-sensitive tasks, including industrial I/O, motor control, or fieldbus timing. This enables application logic, user interface and hardware control to be run without latency concerns.

The platform is focused on industrial automation, HMI panels, connected medical equipment, and IoT gateways. It can also be deployed as vision-enabled embedded devices with optional Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE connectivity, and various display interfaces and camera interfaces.

The OSM-MF SoM is designed to work with a multi-OS software platform on the Cortex-A53 cores with Linux distributions of Yocto, Buildroot, or Debian, and on the specific Cortex-M4F and Cortex-R5F microcontroller cores with FreeRTOS. Furthermore, the PRU subsystem supports deterministic low-latency I/O processing without depending on Linux, to give industrial functions the exact timing. Optional QNX support is available for safety-critical systems.

Ezurio also provides long-term software maintenance, secure boot, OTA update capability, and development tools, allowing Linux processing and real-time control to operate simultaneously without performance conflicts in industrial embedded products.

The Carbon AM62 OSM-MF industrial SoM is not a retail product. So, the price begins at approximately $42, depending on configuration and volume, and is typically not sold as a retail product but must be sampled or ordered by volume (and optional memory, storage and wireless features), and the final price is dependent on the amount of memory, storage, wireless and quantities of production.
