Glitch-Free Supervisor Delivers Robust Protection for Low-Voltage IoT Applications – MAX16162

Eliminate power-up errors with Maxim’s MAX16162 small, low-power, glitch-free supervisor

Maxim’s MAX16162 ultra-low current, single-channel supervisory IC monitors the power supply voltage and asserts a reset when the input voltage falls below the reset threshold. After the monitoring voltage rises above the factory-set threshold voltage, the reset output remains asserted for the reset timeout period and then de-asserts, allowing the target microcontroller or microprocessor to leave the reset state and begin operating.

Features

  • 825 nA (typ) quiescent current extends battery life
  • Multiple available reset timeout periods
  • Threshold voltage: 0.6 V to 4.85 V
  • 4-bump WLP and 4-pin SOT23 packages
  • Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C
  • Separate VCC and VIN inputs

Applications

  • Low voltage microcontrollers and microprocessors
  • Portable/battery-powered equipment
  • E-readers/tablets
  • Wearable/portable accessories
  • Smartphones
