Mekotronics’ Rockchip RK3588 4K Video Encoder hits the market with an NPU, 4 SDI Inputs, an 8K, 60Hz output, along with 64 GB of internal storage. Its Octa-core CPU is ARM-based. The Mali-G610 GPU provides for good high-end signage. As an introductory SDI, it has a versatile functionality.

Professionals prefer SDIs over HDMIs for their signal compatibility and reliability. As such, we see them in use for Broadcasting. The Rockchip RK3588 is good in use for these video applications. The presence of the  Neural Processing Unit (NPU) gives AI- compatible features like facial recognition and object detection. The system supports deep-learning frameworks as well.

Many different OS (Android 12, Buildroot, Debian, Armbian) are supported. A standard Ethernet connection allows for Smart Connection with other IoT devices. A 4G SIM Card slot is also available, which opens the device up to cellular connection.

The Aluminum Chassis is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and dissipates heat better. A sleek, modern look can be seen by some as an added advantage.
