LilyGo T-Beam-1W Brings 1W LoRa, GPS, and ESP32 for Long-Range IoT
A compact ESP32-based board with 1W LoRa, GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and onboard PMU for building long-range IoT nodes, trackers, and off-grid wireless projects.
LilyGo T-Beam-1W
The LilyGo T-Beam-1W targets long-range IoT and LoRa developers who need strong wireless performance and battery-powered field operation. It builds on the ESP32 microcontroller and pairs it with a 1 W LoRa radio (SX1278), GNSS support, and flexible antenna options. This combination lets you build remote sensor nodes, trackers, and other low-power wide-area projects without extra modules or complex power add-ons. The board also uses the AXP2101 PMU and supports a Li-Po/18650 battery, so you can deploy it outdoors with confidence.
Makers and engineers choose the T-Beam-1W when they need long range, portability, and multiple communication paths in one device. LoRa handles several-kilometre links, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth offer short-range connectivity for setup or data sync. GNSS adds location tracking, and the onboard battery holder keeps the system mobile. This mix creates a ready platform for environmental monitoring, asset tracking, community IoT networks, and field-ready sensing projects.
Two months earlier, we covered the LILYGO T-Beam BPF ESP32-S3 Dev Board, an ESP32-S3 platform with an SX1278 LoRa radio (144–148 MHz), OLED display, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and the AXP2101 PMU, making it a strong choice for IoT, tracking, mesh networks, and portable wireless projects. We also featured other LILYGO boards such as the T-Display Bar, T-LoRa Pager, T-Pico 2350, and several more. Feel free to check them out if you want to explore similar devices.

You can program the T-Beam-1W through Arduino IDE, PlatformIO, or ESP-IDF because it follows the standard ESP32 software ecosystem. The board works well with sample codes for LoRa communication, GNSS data logging, battery monitoring, and power-management control. Developers use it to build LoRaWAN nodes, long-range point-to-point links, and off-grid messaging platforms similar to Meshtastic. With proper tuning of sleep modes and radio settings, the T-Beam-1W delivers long battery life and stable 1 W LoRa performance for remote, long-distance applications. You can explore more details and examples on its official GitHub repository.
