CrowPanel Advance 5-inch ESP32-P4 HMI Display Adds Wi-Fi 6 and AI Vision
A powerful dual-core RISC-V interactive terminal offering an 800x480 capacitive touch screen, interchangeable wireless modules, and advanced vision capabilities for IoT devices.
Elecrow has introduced the CrowPanel Advanced 5-inch ESP32-P4 HMI AI display, a high-performance interactive terminal with an 800×480 capacitive IPS touchscreen, an ESP32-C6 for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and support for interchangeable wireless modules.
Because the ESP32-P4 SoC lacks built-in wireless connectivity, Elecrow utilises a dual-chip design. The main processor handles the complex graphical user interfaces and edge AI tasks, while an onboard ESP32-C6-MINI-1 module provides dedicated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The board also features an audio codec with a microphone and dual-speaker output for voice assistants, and an optional 2-megapixel MIPI-CSI camera can be added for real-time facial recognition and object tracking.

For software support, the development board works with ESP-IDF and Arduino IDE, while PlatformIO does not yet officially support the ESP32-P4. For GUI development, it supports LVGL, including LVGL 9.5, and SquareLine Studio. You can also use the optional MIPI-CSI camera for local AI vision applications.
The 5-inch model brings the dual-core RISC-V ESP32-P4 platform to a smaller HMI form factor than the 7-inch GUITION JC1060P470C. It also follows Elecrow’s ESP32-S3-based CrowPanel Advance 7.0, which was the first to introduce interchangeable wireless modules for Thread, Zigbee, Matter, LoRa, and 2.4GHz connectivity. We also reported on other ESP32-P4 HMI alternatives, including the GUITION JC1060P470C 7-inch touchscreen and the ESP32-P4-Function-EV-Board.
Optional wireless modules for the CrowPanel Advanced 5-inch, including ESP32-H2, ESP32-C6, LoRa, and nRF2401.
Elecrow sells the CrowPanel Advanced 5-inch ESP32-P4 HMI AI Display on its online store for $49.45. You can also select the optional wireless modules before checking out, with prices ranging from $3.50 for the nRF2401 to $15.90 for the Wi-Fi HaLow module.
