Nexperia Rolls Out AEC-Q100 Qualified Multiplexer for Automotive Applications
The NMUX27518-Q100 is a 2-to-1 multiplexer designed for automotive applications, featuring a wide 1.08 V to 3.6 V voltage range and a high 500 MHz bandwidth.
Nexperia has released a new bidirectional 6-channel 2:1 multiplexer, the NMUX27518-Q100. This device is qualified to AEC-Q100, Grade 1, a standard that signifies its suitability for demanding automotive applications. The multiplexer is engineered to meet the stringent reliability and performance requirements of systems like advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) domain controllers, automotive head units, and telematics control units. A key function of the NMUX27518-Q100 is to enable memory expansion via a qSPI port in these safety-critical systems.

Nexperia’s new NMUX27518-Q100 operates across a voltage range of 1.08 V to 3.63 V, providing designers with flexibility in power supply implementation. The device’s versatility is further enhanced by its ability to accommodate both digital and analog signals. For applications outside of the automotive sector, such as notebooks and servers, a standard version, the NMUX27518, is also available.
A significant performance metric is the NMUX27518-Q100’s high bandwidth of 500 MHz. This high bandwidth supports high-speed data transmission, essential for the rapid processing required in complex automotive and commercial electronics.

24-Pin Packages
The new multiplexers are available in a plastic thin shrink small outline package (TSSOP24) or a plastic thermal enhanced leadless thin quad flat package (HWQFN24). These packaging options are designed to facilitate integration into various board layouts while offering robust thermal performance. The devices are rated for an operational temperature range of -40 °C to 125 °C. This wide temperature tolerance ensures stable and reliable operation in demanding vehicle environments.
