Seeed Studio has introduced the reComputer R11 series, now available for purchase starting at $179 USD. This compact and rugged IoT gateway and edge controller is built around the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, specifically designed for industrial automation, remote monitoring, and AI-driven edge applications.

At its core, the device features a quad-core Cortex-A72 processor operating at 1.5 GHz via the Raspberry Pi CM4, ensuring efficient multitasking and the capability to handle AI workloads. The reComputer R1113-10 IoT gateway is offered in a configuration of 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of eMMC storage and goes up to 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of eMMC.

In terms of operating systems, the hardware is compatible with Raspbian, Debian, Yocto, and Buildroot, which are widely utilized in embedded Linux environments, providing developers with enhanced flexibility. The production lifecycle is supported until December 2030.

Seeed Studio reComputer R11 Series Details

Seeed Studio provides customization options for the reComputer R1xxx series, allowing designs to be tailored to customer specifications. Customizable features include logo design, firmware flashing, branding and labeling, addition or removal of functional modules, modification of I/O ports, enclosure design, and more. This product is compatible with a variety of automation and IoT software tools, such as Grafana, Codesys, and Balena, among others.

The company has developed other Raspberry Pi-powered edge devices, including the reTerminal DM, a master device featuring a 10.1-inch integrated display, and the reTerminal, a ready-to-go module with a 5-inch display and integrated dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The company also offers the reRouter, a Raspberry Pi-based mini router that supports the OpenWRT operating system.
