Vivid Unit – An RK3399-Based SBC with a Built-In Touchscreen Display

The Vivid Unit is an RK3399-based Single Board Computer (SBC) featuring a 5.5-inch touchscreen display, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 32GB eMMC storage along with Ethernet, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), and Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1 Gen1, HDMI, and a 40-pin GPIO harder. They were designed for smart home automation, robotics, and industrial control systems applications.

Inside the Vivid Unit Box, you will get a touchscreen, braces, M3 screws, and standoffs. Despite the market shift towards Rockchip RK3568 or RK3588, it uses the RK3399 for its mature software stack. UUGear offers Debian 11 OS images, with or without RetroPie, rather than the newer Debian 12. Its GitHub hosts Linux 5.10.110 and u-boot 2017.09, indicating older software versions. Additional resources include VGP GPIO CLI/GUI utility repositories and VSA screen assistant, with further documentation on the product page.
