Waveshare Launches ESP32-P4-WIFI6-POE-ETH HMI and IoT Development Board

Waveshare’s ESP32-P4-WIFI6-POE-ETH board combines Wi-Fi 6, PoE, MIPI DSI/CSI, audio, and rich GPIO for HMI, multimedia, edge AI, and IoT gateway applications.

ESP32-P4-WIFI6-POE-ETH development board

The ESP32-P4-WIFI6-POE-ETH, a small development board based on the ESP32-P4 and an ESP32-C6 wireless module, was recently unveiled by Waveshare. The design streamlines various HMI and IoT applications through the integration of 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5 (Low Energy), Ethernet, USB 2.0 OTG controller, and optional PoE power delivery into a single platform for multimedia processing, display and camera applications, and general embedded development.

The ESP32-C6 encompasses an external antenna connector for wireless operation and additionally employs an SDIO interface to communicate with the ESP32-P4. MIPI-CSI, MIPI-DSI, USB 2.0 OTG, audio codec + amplifier, microphone, MicroSD card slot, 40-pin GPIO expansion, and 100Mbps Ethernet with PoE are all supported by the board. In furtherance of security features like secure boot, flash encryption, crypto accelerators, TRNG, and privilege separation, other peripherals include I2S, I2C, SPI, UART, PWM, MCPWM, RMT, ADC, and TWAI. It is capable of being used with HMI terminals, smart panels, multimedia control interfaces, local edge AI, and IoT gateways owing to these features.
