Norik Systems DECT NR+ USB Dongle Built Around Nordic nRF9151 SiP

Designed for DECT NR+ evaluation and development, this USB dongle integrates the Nordic nRF9151, RP2040 debugger, USB serial, and built-in antenna.



Norik Systems has manufactured a small USB dongle based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP) that is primarily designed to function as a corresponding DECT NR+ child node or a USB-powered gateway, resulting in a perfect environment for evaluating, developing, and testing DECT NR+ applications. As an illustration, DECT NR+ is a non-cellular 5G standard for long-range low-power applications that operates at 1.9 GHz and supports up to one million nodes through mesh, star and point-to-point topologies.

With the Norik USB dongle developers can easily add DECT NR+ to gateways or child modes. The small form factor, built-in programmer and full radio support make it the ideal tool for anyone working on DECT NR+ connectivity, whether building sophisticated devices or testing deployments in the field.

The dongle plugs into a USB port directly and appears as a serial device and debugger. It is pre-flashed with console-shell firmware that enables developers to recognize networks, join or create private networks, execute link tests, and evaluate radio performance from a serial terminal. The open-source examples that come with the Zephyr-based Nordic nRF Connect SDK (Zephyr) allow users to reprogram the dongle with your application. The integrated CMSIS-DAP debugger allows you to program and debug over USB without the need for an external debug probe.  The product page (below) also provides a datasheetapplication development and flashing guide, and prebuilt firmware for nRF9151.
