The reTerminal D1001 brings a practical approach to AIoT HMI development by combining a powerful processor, connectivity, and a large LCD Touch Display in a single platform. Built around the Espressif Systems ESP32-P4, this device targets developers who need smooth UI rendering, real-time interaction, and edge processing without relying on external compute modules. It focuses on applications where display, touch, and connectivity must work together reliably.

This platform stands out because it does not just offer a screen—it delivers a complete interaction system. The integrated LCD Touch Display, camera, audio subsystem, and wireless connectivity create a ready-to-use development environment for smart panels, dashboards, and AI-driven interfaces. You don’t need to assemble multiple boards or debug compatibility issues. Everything comes pre-integrated and optimized for embedded use.

reTerminal D1001 Hardware Details

The platform uses the ESP-IDF framework, which gives you full control over hardware, peripherals, and real-time performance. You can install the ESP-IDF environment using Espressif’s installation manager and integrate it with Visual Studio Code for development. The official firmware repository includes factory demos that showcase UI rendering, camera preview, and sensor interaction. You can build, flash, and monitor firmware directly through VS Code, which simplifies development and debugging. If you struggle with embedded toolchains, this setup removes most friction and lets you focus on application logic instead of environment issues. More details available on the wiki page.
