Quectel SH602FA and SE505FE MediaTek-powered Modules

Quectel, an IoT specialist, recently unveiled two newly developed cellular “smart modules,” one for 4G LTE high-end cellular gadgets and another aimed for entry-level 5G NR designs. Both the SH602FA and SE505FE support Google’s Android 16 operating system. The SH602FA 4G LTE Cat 4 and SE505FE 5G Sub-6 GHz Android 16-smart IoT hardware modules feature octa-core MediaTek processors, cellular networking, standardized wireless interfaces and advanced multimedia features for smart displays, point-of-sale terminals, industrial handhelds and robots.

The “high-performance” 4G LTE SH602FA module is based on the MediaTek MT8786 Cortex-A75/A55 processor, and the “entry-level” 5G SE505FE module is powered by a MediaTek MT8863T Cortex-A76/A55 SoC. Both configurations are available in a number of localized versions and a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth-only “-WF” variant.

Quectel SE505FE Dimensions

The SH602FA and SE505FE 4G LTE and 5G IoT modules include a fully functional Android 16 OS that delivers platform-independent UI, integrated multimedia, security and system-integration features. This enables users to take advantage of standard Android APIs and Android’s built-in interface capabilities, rather than writing a full tailored software stack.
