Seeed Studio has unveiled the reComputer R2000 series industrial Edge AI/IoT controller family integrated with the comprehensively adaptable Raspberry Pi CM5 backed by the optional Hailo-8 AI accelerator delivering up to 26 TOPS, enabling real-time, high-performance AI vision processing across multiple channels. This compact and rugged industrial Edge AI/IoT gateway and edge controller is built around the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, specifically designed for industrial automation, remote monitoring, and AI-driven edge applications.

It includes two isolated RS485 ports, two isolated RS232 ports, DI and DO interfaces, and four LED indicators. Additional wireless connectivity options include dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, on-chip Wi-Fi and BLE 5.0, LoRa, 4G LTE, 5G and Zigbee. The device also features three USB-A 3.0 Host ports, one USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-C 2.0 port for OS flashing and debugging, two HDMI 2.0 output ports, and a Nano SIM card slot.

Mainboard Overview

In terms of operating systems customization, the hardware is compatible with the Raspberry OS, Debian, the Yocto Project, and Buildroot which are widely utilized in embedded Linux environments, providing developers with enhanced flexibility.
