StarFive VisionFive 2 Lite RISC-V SBC

The VisionFive2 Lite is a low-cost RISC-V SBC built around the StarFive JH-7110S quad-core SoC with an integrated 3D GPU and full Linux support. It targets education, AIoT, lightweight servers, and embedded control in a compact 56×85 mm design.

The board offers 2GB/4GB/8GB LPDDR4, optional 64GB eMMC, onboard Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.4, HDMI 2.0 up to 4K, MIPI CSI/DSI, PCIe-based M.2 2242 SSDs, Gigabit Ethernet with PoE support, and multiple USB ports. It supports high-resolution video decoding (4K60), has QSPI for boot firmware, provides a standard 40-pin GPIO header with I2C/SPI/UART/I2S/CAN/PWM, and runs mainstream Linux distributions along with OpenWrt, CasaOS, and real-time OS options.

VisionFive2 Lite Block Diagram

The board supports mainstream Linux distributions, including Debian-based images from StarFive, OpenWrt, Buildroot, and Yocto, with complete toolchain support for RV64GC. GPU and VPU acceleration are provided through open-source drivers, and the board can also run OpenPLC, EtherCAT stacks, CasaOS, and RTOS builds using the provided fastboot and flashing tools. VisionFive2 Lite Dimensions

This is not the first RISC-V development board we have written about previously. We have seen boards like the ESWIN EBC77 Series and boards like the Orange Pi R2S, which is built around RISC-V SoCs.

The JH-7110S RISC-V SoC-based VisionFive2 Lite SBC is available on Waveshare for $42.99 to $63.99, depending on the RAM configuration and the optional 64GB eMMC module. Versions with Wi-Fi/BT and eMMC are priced higher, while the base 2GB and 4GB models sit at the lower end of the range.
