MINIX ER939-AI Mini PC Features 126 TOPS NPU and High-Speed Connectivity

This new compact workstation features an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 128 GB of LPDDR5 memory, and support for quad-screen displays, targeting AI developers, content creators, and demanding industrial applications.

As the demand for local AI processing and high-performance computing grows, especially in smaller systems, the need for compact yet powerful machines is also increasing. This is evident from the rising popularity of Mac mini cluster projects, and it’s no secret that even Apple is starting to focus more on local AI development rather than relying entirely on cloud-based solutions. To meet this demand, MINIX has introduced the ER939-AI, a compact mini PC built to handle AI workloads, real-time machine learning, and heavy media processing without the need for a large desktop.

The system features a 16-core/32-thread CPU (up to 5.1 GHz), integrated Radeon 8060S Graphics with 8K output, and an NPU with up to 126 TOPS for AI power for applications such as speech recognition and image processing. It comes with up to 128GB LPDDR5-8000 memory and expandable storage up to 8TB via PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Connectivity includes 2.5G Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB4, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 1.4 with support for up to four displays. Additional features include Windows Hello fingerprint login, a dual-turbo cooling system with triple fans, and Windows 11 Pro, making it suitable for intensive multitasking, AI acceleration, and high-performance computing in a compact footprint.

The company has included a built-in fingerprint reader directly onto the primary power button for seamless Windows Hello biometric login. Cooling a 16-core processor under heavy AI or rendering loads in a 205 x 192 mm chassis is no small feat, so MINIX has equipped the system with what it calls a “dual-turbo cooling system,” using three internal fans and an intercooler design to keep thermal throttling at bay.

ER939-AI Mini PC package contents

Previously, we have written about various other Mini PCs like the Beelink ME Pro, the Ryzen AI 9 HX470-based MINISFORUM’s AI X1 Pro-470 Mini PC, the Shuttle NT10H Series Mini PC, and others. Feel free to check those out if you are interested in the topic.

The system ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed with multi-language support. Inside the retail packaging, you will find the MINIX ER939-AI mini PC, a heavy-duty 240W power adapter, an HDMI cable, and the user manual.

High-end hardware of this caliber comes with a matching high price tag, and the MINIX ER939-AI Mini PC is no different, as it’s currently available on the MINIX Official Store for a sale price of $3,150.00. While certainly steep for a mini PC, it competes directly with compact remote server setups and mobile workstations, falling into the same premium tier as recent Strix Halo releases like the ONEXStation.
