NeoEyes NE503 – A 4K Edge AI Camera With Hailo-15H 20 TOPS SoC
This rugged IP67 rated smart AI camera offers on-device inference, containerized app support, and a Sony IMX678 sensor for demanding security and industrial applications.
Following the recent release of the ultra-low-power NE301, CamThink has introduced the NeoEyes NE503, a 4K edge AI camera based on the Hailo-15H quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 SoC. The camera integrates a 20 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU) for on-device AI inference and supports running multiple AI models locally without requiring cloud processing.
The camera is built around a Sony IMX678 1/1.8-inch 4K CMOS image sensor and an 8–32 mm autofocus zoom lens with an F1.6–F1.7 aperture. The imaging system uses the Hailo Gen2 AI-ISP, supports H.264/H.265 hardware encoding at up to 4K@30fps, and is specified to operate in lighting conditions down to <0.01 lux. The main control board is a dual-board architecture that features a core processing board with the Hailo-15H SoC, memory, and storage, and an interface board based on an STMicroelectronics STM32G0B0RET6 Cortex-M0+ MCU that manages external I/O, power management, and lens control. This targets applications such as smart security, industrial inspection, and AIoT.

The NE503 runs an embedded Linux built with Yocto and uses a containerd runtime to support OCI-compatible container deployment. It also implements a zero-copy data pipeline (DMA/SHM) to transfer data between the video capture, AI inference, and video encoding modules. The camera ships with pre-installed AI models including YOLOv8n for person detection, Face Landmarks, and a CLIP Image Encoder.
For software development, CamThink provides a Python SDK, REST APIs, a Web Console, and the aipc-cli command-line utility. The platform also supports an event bus for exchanging inference results and device events between applications and system services.

NeoEyes NE503 supports RTSP, MQTT, REST APIs, Event Bus, Alarm I/O, and RS-485 for edge AI integration.
The CamThink NeoEyes NE503 is available for $1,199 on the company’s store, with shipments scheduled to begin in late July 2026. Additional information, including documentation, software resources, and hardware references, is available on the company’s product wiki and GitHub repository.
