The ESP32-S3 Display Development Board uses the dual-core ESP32-S3 R8 and has an operating frequency of 240MHz with 384 KB ROM, and 512 KB SRAM, with external flash and RAM support. The board comes with 2.4 GHz WiFi with speeds up to 150 Mbps and Bluetooth 5.0 (LE and Mesh) connectivity. ESP32-S3 supports SoftAP and Station Mode allowing smooth network integration. ESP32-S3 has Ultra-Low-Power (ULP) coprocessors to operate in energy-efficient mode with high performance. It has many peripherals like 45 GPIO pins and supports communication over I2C, SPI, UART, etc, and analog interfaces making it easy to interface various sensors and devices. It also has touch sensing and a camera interface (DVP) increasing the scope of applications.

Moreover, the board has security features like Secure Boot, Flash Encryption, Hardware Cryptography (Supports AES RSA), Random Number Generator (RNG), and HMAC. This means that the board supports remote management with features like automatic beacon monitoring and flash in-circuit programming (ICP).

ESP32-S3 Display Board has the LBS147TC-IF15 1.47-inch display

The focus of the board–1.47-inch display, is LBS147TC-IF15, a TFT LCD with a resolution of 172×320 pixels, a color palette of 262k colors, and a brightness of 350 cd/m². It operates at a system voltage of 2.5V to 3.3V. Operating in a “Normally Black” mode, the display is driven by IC ST7789V3, and supports a 4-line SPI interface. Its operating temperature range of -20oC to 70oC and a storage temperature range of -30oC to 80oC. It has low power consumption with a compact form factor of “19.39 x 36.28 x 1.46 mm” and a weight of 2.7g. Additionally, the backlight has 2 white LEDs, for low-light environments.

The features of LCD could create an intuitive Human-Machine interface, making it easier for users to interact with all the connected devices. And with multiple GPIO pins and support for multiple communication protocols, it becomes easier to interface with various sensors and actuators, enhancing its functionality in projects like environmental monitoring and wearables. Since the board has low energy consumption, all this could be implemented into battery-powered projects. Additionally, with features such as Secure Boot and Flash Encryption, the ESP32-S3 ensures that sensitive data remains protected.

The ESP32-S3 1.47-inch Display Development Board is an solution for IoT, smart home, and automation applications, combining features of ESP32-S3 like high-performance processing, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a vibrant 1.47-inch LBS147TC-IF15 TFT LCD. The board is available on Waveshare website.
