Finnish company Everypin has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the PwrBlock 323, an open-hardware programmable power supply for automated testing that offers programmatic voltage and current control measurement. It can source 1 to 32V at up to 3A, up to 92W from a 100W USB-C PD source, supports software-controlled power switching, voltage and current measurement, and power cycling for a device under test (DUT).

The board is based on a STMicroelectronics STM32G0C1CEU Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontroller and includes an LM51772 buck-boost controller, INA229 voltage and current measurement IC, and TPS259830 input protection. It provides 10-mV voltage resolution from 1 to 24 V, and 20-mV resolution above 24 V. Current is programmed in 1-mA steps. Over-current protection, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection and over-power protection are some of the major projection features.

The organisation says the PwrBlock 323 can be assembled inside a test jig or stand using its mounting points and pin headers, with the DUT controlled and powered directly as part of the standardized automatic test sequence. It is an alternative to USB-C programmable lab power supplies such as AmpisuPocketPD, and BenchVolt PD. The module can be operated via USB by SCPI commands and can be managed using Python, VISA compatible tools or custom test scripts. This enables test scripts to set standard current and voltage limits, switch on/off, and automatically read measurements in an automated test setup. The hardware design files, STM32 firmware, Python software, documentation, and GUI for the PwrBlock 323 will be posted to Everypin’s GitHub account soon. Hardware and mechanical files will eventually be made available under CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, firmware and host software under Apache 2.0 license and documentation under CC BY 4.0.

The PwrBlock 323 is currently on Crowd Supply with a $3,000 funding goal. The complete unit costs $230, not including the USB-C cable and power adapter. Free shipping in the US, $12 for international orders. The promotional period concludes on Oct 1, 2026 with orders now scheduled to ship around Mar 30, 2027. All the markings say that the PCB and enclosures are made in China but the final assembly, firmware programming, calibration and end-of-line testing are done in Finland.
