M5Stack has introduced the Stamp LoRa-1262, an ultra-compact embedded LoRa communication module built around the Semtech SX1262 high-performance LoRa transceiver. The module supports the 868–923 MHz frequency band and targets applications that need long-range wireless communication in a small hardware footprint.

The module delivers up to +22 dBm transmit power and receive sensitivity as low as -147 dBm in LoRa low-rate mode. M5Stack offers the module in three variants, giving developers different antenna and connector options for integration into compact hardware designs. The module can support applications including smart-city systems, agriculture and environmental monitoring, and outdoor communication.

Previously, we covered several LoRa modules, including the REYAX RYLR999, Seeed Studio Wio-LR1121, Waveshare Core1121, and XIAO ESP32-S3 with the Wio-SX1262 LoRa Module. Feel free to check them out if you are interested in exploring more LoRa modules.

    • Integrates the high-performance SX1262 LoRa transceiver.
    • Supports a programmable LoRa bitrate of up to 300 kbps.
  • Frequency band: Supports LoRa communication across the 868–923 MHz frequency range.
  • Modulation modes: LoRa / FSK / GFSK / MSK / GMSK / OOK
    • Supports multiple modulation modes for different wireless communication requirements.
  • Transmit power: Provides a maximum LoRa transmit power of +22 dBm.
  • Receive sensitivity: Reaches sensitivity as low as -147 dBm in LoRa low-rate mode.
  • Communication interface: Uses an SPI interface to communicate with the host controller.
  • Antenna connector:
    • Stamp LoRa-1262 I and IF variants include an IPEX-4 antenna connector.
    • The standard Stamp LoRa-1262 uses an onboard RF pad.
  • FPC connector: The Stamp LoRa-1262 IF variant includes a 0.5 mm @ 12P FPC connector for communication I/O breakout.
  • Antenna: 868 MHz, 3 dBi
    • The included antenna measures 108 mm and uses an RP-SMA connector.
  • Power supply: The module has a listed power consumption of 3.03 mA at 3.3 V.
  • Dimensions:
    • Stamp LoRa-1262 and Stamp LoRa-1262 I measure 14.0 × 10.0 × 2.4 mm.
    • Stamp LoRa-1262 IF measures 14.0 × 10.0 × 3.6 mm.
  • Weight: 0.7–0.8 g
    • Stamp LoRa-1262 and Stamp LoRa-1262 I weigh 0.7 g.
    • Stamp LoRa-1262 IF weighs 0.8 g.

The three variants provide different hardware configurations. The standard S014 Stamp LoRa-1262 uses an onboard RF pad, while the S014-I adds an IPEX-4 antenna connector. The S014-IF combines the IPEX-4 connector with the 0.5 mm @ 12P FPC connector for additional communication I/O breakout. The I and IF versions also include an 868 MHz RP-SMA rubber duck antenna, a 40 mm RP-SMA-to-IPEX-4 extension cable, washers, and a brass nut.

M5Stack provides an Arduino Quick Start and an Arduino LoRa driver library for the Stamp LoRa-1262. Developers can use the RadioLib library to interface with the SX1262-based module and build LoRa communication applications. M5Stack also provides schematics, pin maps, model-size documentation, and other hardware documentation for integration.

Antenna connection varies by variant: the standard model uses the onboard RF pad, while the I and IF models use the IPEX-4 connector

The M5Stack Stamp LoRa-1262 is available from the official M5Stack store, with the S014 version currently listed at $5.50. The store also lists the product as available for purchase, although pricing can vary by selected variant and may change over time.
