The D-Robotics RDK X3 Development Board is a versatile platform designed for edge inference and robotics applications, powered by a Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and dual-core Bernoulli architecture with 5 Tops inference capability. It offers options for 2GB or 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, a range of multimedia features including H.265 video encoding/decoding, and connectivity options like Wi-Fi 2.4/5GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, and Ethernet. The board can connect to lots of different sensors via MIPI/CSI interfaces. Also, it has several USB, HDMI, and GPIO connections with a power input of 5V/3A. It runs on Ubuntu 20.04/22.04 and is designed to accelerate the development of robotic solutions, with support for over 100 development kits and open-source algorithms.

It’s very easy to use; you can use this board for real-life stuff like figuring out traffic lights and controlling robots that can move around. With this board, you can build drones and robotic cars by yourself. You can build smart robotic systems with its powerful processing because it has lots of ways to connect to other things.

Previously, we have written about some more interesting SBCs like the Sparkfun Pro Micro-RP2350, the Boardcom RK3576, the Weact STM32G4, and much more. Feel free to check those out if you are interested in the topic.

As far as I understand, the D-Robotics RDK X3 is a cool board for people who want to make smart robots and AI stuff. It’s fast, can do AI stuff well, and can connect to lots of things. You can use it for drones, autonomous cars, and lots of other cool gadgets with its features. It works with the latest version of Ubuntu 20.04/22.04, which is a popular computer program and can connect to many sensors and other stuff. It’s also not too expensive, so it’s a good choice for people who are just starting or who are already experts.

This Development Board is available on Waveshare’s official product page. At $59.99 for 2GB of RAM and $69.99 for the 4GB of RAM version. You can also visit DFRobot’s official site. It is currently showing a “coming soon” status for the same product at $55.00 for the 4GB RAM version. Apart from these, it is also available on various platforms, like AliExpress starting from $84.39 and Core Electronics at $125.13 (4 GB RAM version).
