Sipeed SLogic16U3 USB 3.0 Logic Analyzer
The Sipeed SLogic16U3 is a compact, low-cost USB 3.0 logic analyzer designed for digital debugging, reverse-engineering, and embedded system verification. It targets makers and engineers who need high-speed signal capture, protocol decoding, and real-time waveform analysis at an affordable price.
The device offers 16 input channels with up to 800MS/s sampling on four channels (400MS/s on eight, 200MS/s on all sixteen) for a total 3.2Gbps data rate over USB 3.0. The analyzer supports 0–10V inputs, adjustable 0–6V trigger thresholds, edge and level triggers, and over 150 protocol decoders, including SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, JTAG, and Modbus. This makes it suitable for embedded debugging, protocol analysis, hardware validation, and general digital signal inspection.

The SLogic16U3 works with Sigrok and PulseView on Windows, Linux, and macOS, supporting real-time USB 3.0 streaming, multi-channel capture, and decoding for 150+ protocols. Linux can reach the full 800MS/s rate thanks to better USB3 driver performance, and Sipeed provides firmware, protocol details, and tooling through its public GitHub repositories. More information is available on the company’s wiki page.
Sipeed’s documentation is generally very good, but there are some terms that need clarification. Although the SLogic16U3 uses a 5Gbps USB 3.0 link and Windows reports ~390MB/s (~3.1Gbps), the effective real-time throughput for any USB 3.0 device is about 3.2Gbps once protocol overheads are factored in, so Windows and Linux should deliver similar performance. As CNX-Software notes that with multi-channel analyzers, the sampling rate drops as channels increase because the total USB bandwidth is fixed: 800MS/s (4ch), 400MS/s (8ch), and 200MS/s (16ch), all equating to the same ~3.2Gsamples/s total.
