Orbbec has recently introduced the Gemini 335Lg, a high-performance stereo vision 3D camera for indoor and outdoor use. Powered by GMSL2/FAKRA technology, it ensures stable and reliable data transmission, even in challenging environments. Part of the Gemini 330 series, this model serves as the GMSL2/FAKRA variant of the proven Gemini 335L, making it ideal for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and robotic arms.

Key features include active and passive stereo depth technology with a range of 0.17–20m+, IP65-rated durability, and a global shutter for depth and RGB imaging. It supports resolutions of up to 1280×800 at 30fps for depth and 60fps for RGB, operates from -10°C to 50°C, and boasts a compact, lightweight design (124x29x36 mm, 160g). It is specially used in robotics, industrial automation, long-distance requiring environments, and stable data transmission. Compatibility checks are recommended before purchase.

The Gemini 335Lg streamlines deployment with hardware compatibility for deserialization chips and OTA updates for easy maintenance. Its open-source SDK supports ROS1, ROS2, and NVIDIA Isaac ROS, enabling flexible development. Pre-integrated with NVIDIA Jetson platforms, it ensures seamless AI integration, with technical support available for smooth implementation. Additionally, it keeps the USB Type-C interface and streaming capabilities of the Gemini 335L, with added GMSL2 and FAKRA support. Both models share a unified SDK, allowing easy development and validation on the Gemini 335Lg using projects already created for the Gemini 335L.

Gemini 335Lg 3D camera Multi-device Collaboration

The Gemini 335Lg is customized for synchronized multi-camera operation, ensuring accurate alignment of streams from multiple devices. It offers two synchronization options: GMSL2 GPIO sync or an 8-pin connector with a sync cable. The GMSL2 simplifies wiring while providing reliable performance. Designed to withstand harsh conditions, it features an IP65 rating and operates in both active and passive stereo modes, delivering high-depth accuracy with less than 0.8% error at a distance of 2 meters. With a 90° horizontal and 65° vertical field of view, support for cable lengths up to 15 meters, and compliance with industrial standards, the camera is well-suited for precise, synchronized multi-camera applications in demanding environments.
