Luckfox Nova Embedded Development Board Features Rockchip RK3308B SoC with 8-Channel Audio and PoE/Wi-Fi Options
The Luckfox Nova is an embedded development board powered by the Rockchip RK3308B processor. This SoC features a 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 CPU running at up to 1.3GHz, designed for smart voice interaction, audio signal processing, and multimedia applications. It integrates a high-performance Audio Codec and Voice Activity Detection (VAD) module for low-power voice wake-up and multi-channel audio input.
The board includes a built-in Audio Codec that supports up to 8-channel microphone input, making it suitable for far-field voice capture and microphone array development. It provides two 26-pin GPIO headers with support for UART, SPI, I2C, and other standard interfaces, allowing flexible peripheral control.
Storage options include 8GB of onboard eMMC and a microSD card slot supporting SDIO 3.0 for additional storage. The system is equipped with 512MB DDR3 memory, enabling efficient handling of lightweight multi-tasking applications. These features make the Luckfox Nova a practical solution for embedded systems involving voice control, audio pre-processing, and related use cases.

Last month, we covered the Luckfox Lyra Ultra, a Linux-based micro development board powered by the Rockchip RK3506B processor. The Lyra series supports both the Buildroot build system and Ubuntu 22.04. In contrast, the company has not yet specified the supported operating system for the Luckfox Nova. While documentation is available on the Luckfox Wiki, it currently provides fewer details compared to previous products.
The Luckfox Nova is available in four versions: the standard base model, the Nova W with Wi-Fi support, the PoE Kit with Ethernet-based power delivery, and the Nova W PoE Kit, which combines both Wi-Fi and PoE functionality.
The Luckfox Nova, based on the Rockchip RK3308B micro development board, is available on AliExpress for $22.75 (without PoE) and $30.74 (with PoE). It is also listed on Waveshare, where the wireless version is priced at $18.99, while the non-wireless version is available for $15.99.
