GGBEE RMW002 is A $4 WiFi smart switch with BL602 RISC-V SoC and Alexa and Google Assistant Support

The GGBEE RMW002 is a compact WiFi-enabled AC smart switch that allows users to control appliances remotely through the Cozy Life app, as well as via voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

It supports a voltage range of 100-240V AC and offers models with a maximum current rating of either 16A or 20A. This smart switch features group control, countdown timers, and dual-control wiring options, allowing users to manage their devices through both the app and a traditional rocker switch.

It is CE-certified but lacks more specific safety certifications like TUV or UL. The switch is compatible with Android devices (OS 4.1 or higher) and can be easily installed in existing wall outlets without needing a hub. While it offers cost-effective pricing compared to similar devices like SONOFF switches, there are mixed user reviews, particularly about its lack of support for Tasmota/ESPHome unless modified. It is most commonly used in smart home setups to control lights and other appliances.

The device is very similar to SONOFF devices. We previously wrote about the SONOFF MINIR4 and Seeed Studio 2-CH Wi-Fi modules, which are pretty similar to this GGBEE RMW002 module. Feel free to check that out if you are interested in the topic.

The GGBEE RMW002 uses the Cozy Life app for control and supports Alexa and Google Assistant for voice commands. Unlike ESP-based switches, it features a Bouffalo Lab BL602 RISC-V SoC, making it incompatible with Tasmota/ESPHome unless modified with an ESP-02S module. It is listed in the SonoffLAN project for Home Assistant support but requires proper Sonoff.yaml configuration. While affordable, its limited third-party firmware support may not suit DIY home automation users.

The GGBEE RMW002 WiFi smart switch is available on AliExpress for $4-$5, with occasional $0.99 promo deals. It’s significantly cheaper than similar SONOFF switches, but availability outside AliExpress is limited.
