Semtech has announced two new ICs in the series of 1 V motor/LED control timers. The new SX8120 and SX8121 operate at 0.9 V to control a DC motor or other continuous low-voltage element or drive a high-brightness LED directly from a single battery. The SX8120/21 goes active on the press of a button. The output goes back to sleep on the next button press or after a preset time-out (15 sec or 30 sec on SX8120, 10 minutes or never on the SX8121). The time-out duration and the motor control polarity are pin-selected. [via]
