iWave Systems has recently launched its iW-RainboW-G54S, a compact SBC designed for industrial automation, machine learning, vision systems, and multimedia applications with a temperature range of -40 to +85°C.

It features an STMicroelectronics STM32MP13x OSM with a Cortex-A7 core processor running up to 1 GHz and supports up to 1GB DDR3L memory and expandable 128GB eMMC storage. A wide range of connectivity options is offered by the board, including Gigabit Ethernet, multiple UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB ports, and an 18-bit RGB display interface. It operates on Linux 6.1.28 or higher and offers long-term product longevity of over 10 years. The SBC provides a balance of performance, flexibility, and reliability in a compact 85mm x 56mm form factor.

Previously, iWave Systems introduced some SoMs, such as the iW-RainboW-G58M, the iW-RainboW-G61M, the iW-RainboW-G63M, and many more. These are nothing like the iW-RainboW-G54S SBC, except for some features.

The company also mentioned that the SBC supports Linux 6.1.28 or later. Basic documents like the brochure, datasheet, and STEP file are available after entering an email, while access to Linux documentation and the SBC requires contacting sales. A quick start guide is also available without registration, explaining how to boot a Yocto-built ST OpenSTLinux image on the board.

The iWave Systems iW-RainboW-G54S SBC with an STM32MP135 SoC and 512MB RAM is available on Digikey for $268.42. More details are listed on the product page.
